OPHP is closed until July 23rd due to wildfire smoke
Due to the current air quality conditions and following the guidance of the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and the advice of the Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Family Fun Day and close Oliver Paipoonge Heritage Park for the remainder of the weekend.
The health and safety of our visitors, volunteers, vendors, entertainers, and staff is our top priority. While we know this news is disappointing, we believe this is the safest decision given the ongoing wildfire smoke and air quality advisories.
We currently plan to reopen on Thursday July 23rd for our regular operating hours of 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., provided air quality conditions improve.
If you are planning to travel or spend time outdoors, we encourage you to monitor current air quality conditions and wildfire updates:
Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the park as soon as it is safe to do so
